Mogadishu,(insidesomalia.org)-The fighting has began following armed groups linked to the Islamic courts union attacked at army bases in the town on Thursday night, officials said
Residents said that three of the government forces died in the combating, which erupted in many army bases in the town.
"We can perceive sound of eardrums breaking bangs and bullet barrages in our town we don’t know how things are we couldn’t sleep" Hawa Jeylani a resident in Beledweyne said.
Also the Islamic courts union has claimed the responsibility of that attack
The spokesman of the ousted Islamic courts union that is to say Sheikh Abdi Rahim Isse has told Shabelle that their Islamic fighters are responsible that fighting occurred in Beledweyne.
" Our fighters have burned three armed vehicles and killed seven soldiers and we discharged the prisons from the inmates, " he said
This hostility comes as a Fighting that continued additional minutes erupted in Beled Weyne, the provincial town of Hiiraan Region [central Somalia].
The fighting was between forces loyal to the regional governor against those of Beled Weyne District commissioner.
Damages caused by the exchange of fire between the two sides are not identified. Tension remains high in the town and many people who converged in the town have been discussing the incident.
The reason behind the clash is not recognized. However, there has been a dispute between the two officials as Beled Weyne district commissioner recently accused the regional governor of misusing his power.
